1. We already have a fax template that we have been using in our group. Do we have to use the templates provided from corporate branding?

All communications should be consistent with the brand standards. If the template you are using follows the standards, you don’t need to use the template we have provided.

2. Can I create my own electronic stationery?

Electronic stationery should be used solely for e-mail purposes. All printed correspondence can be composed from accessing the Microsoft Word stationery template located here. Branded letterhead stationery for printing is available through
e-Catalog.

Due to the inability to ensure branded color standards across all color printers available throughout the company, the electronic stationery version has been created with the Lilly signature in black only. A template of this approved version can also be downloaded by clicking here.

3. I have been using an e-mail signature that includes an image of our product logo. Is that okay?

The electronic e-mail signatures currently being utilized throughout the company have generated a variety of challenges. Incorporating photography, clip art and/or signatures into your signature graphic greatly increases the size of the e-mail documents to be sent and stored in your Lotus Notes e-mail accounts. This can create mailbox space conflicts within your system.

Additionally, not all e-mail software systems outside the company have the ability to simultaneously display graphics with text. The graphic may appear to an external customer as an attachment to the e-mail transmission or not at all, depending on the system receiving your correspondence.

Given these restrictions, it is recommended that a text-based signature be utilized when communicating with individuals both in and outside Lilly in order to ensure the delivery of proper contact information.

If you and/or your component would still like to create a simple graphic to include the brand signature for distribution within the organization as well as to outside contacts with graphic e-mail capabilities, a standard e-mail signature template with instructions for creating your individualized graphic can be found in the Toolkit.
